Fractions Jeopardy Game is a fun way to review the four operations with fractions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. You can play this game by yourself, with your friends, or in teams.
Follow these basic rules when performing operations with fractions.
To add fractions with like (common) denominators, add the numerators and write that sum over the common denominator.
To subtract fractions with like (common) denominators, subtrract the numerators and write the difference over the common denominator.
To add unlike fractions (with different denominators), rename the fractions using the least common denominator (LCD), add, and simplify if necessary.
To subtract unlike fractions, rename the fractions using the least common denominator (LCD), subtract, and simplify if necessary.
The LCD is the least common multiple of the denominators.
To multiply fractions, multiply the numerators, multiply the denominators, and write the product in the simplest from.
When dividing two fractions, multiply the first fraction with the reciprocal of the second fraction.
